Userdir support

I currently run a web server at home. I could get DSL access for about half the cost if I gave up the static IP address. I am thinking of moving from web sites to a shared server. in order to do this, I need userdir support (~username) as most of my personal pages are accessed this way and I don't want to lose all my URLs. Would it be possible for my websites to respond to user directory requests on your shared server setups?

Is possible to temporarily work in that way, but not permanently.
